The Mission and Purpose of Elevate
We empower others, especially women, through honest conversations, authentic connection, and the courage to grow beyond what they thought possible.
Real Conversations. Real Connection. Real Growth.
Design of Elevate Workshops
Given the diverse experiences of the board members and the flexibility provided by the ability to include additional speakers and topics, our
ideal approach is to work with each client to determine the workshop topics and structure that best suit the needs of their business and audience.
Regardless of the content, the defining characteristics of every Elevate workshop include:
• authentic, down to earth speakers who readily connect with audiences
• real world experiences shared openly and vulnerably
• lessons learned along with realistic tools that can be put into action immediately
The History of Elevate
Three women had long been passionate about supporting and mentoring others in their personal and professional growth.
Each was successful in her own right, and each was at a different stage in her career. Roxanne Orsak joined a Fortune 100 company right
out of college and had grown from a management trainee to the C suite, poised to take over the COO role. Tina James had just retired from
that same company after 30 years, 20 of them as the head of HR. Tracey Blackwell started and built her own multi-million dollar business
from the ground up and had just sold it for more than she ever dreamt possible. These 3 women had been friends for more than 30 years and
had provided unwavering support to each other as they worked to build their individual careers. The hallmark of this support was the level
of honesty, lack of judgment and sheer vulnerability experienced with each other over the years.
Knowing the critical role having this type of support network played in their own careers, they wanted to create space where other women
could enjoy the same support. Under the encouragement and exceptional planning and organizing skills of Laura Campbell, they started by
bringing a small group of women together with the specific intention of providing open honest
transparent authentic dialogue on any topics the participants were interested in discussing. While there was some structure to the content,
the majority of the value was created in the transparent dialogues with the workshop hosts as well as the relationships that developed
between participants. To create a more informal environment, those early “workshops” were held offsite in remote locations and participants
stayed overnight to ensure they were able to unplug from the challenges of their daily lives. Given the unmitigated success of those early
workshops, women often returned the following year with other colleagues in tow and we soon outgrew the ability to host overnight accommodations.
With the desire to touch more lives without giving up the value of delivering open honest conversations on tough topics, the Elevate Conference
was born. Roxanne was in fact promoted to COO of the Fortune 100 business and now plays an advisory role on the Elevate board while Tracey and
Tina continue to deliver relevant content in their trademark styles. Laura continues to use her remarkable creativity and event planning skills
to bring the annual conference and smaller workshops to life and also acts as the primary point of contact for any potential clients. ##Add link to contact Laura here##
What is a 2 AM Friend
When asked to explain “what’s the 2am part of Elevate2am?” one of the founders gave this real scenario:
“It is 2am and I need help. I am embarrassed, devastated, upset, angry, lonely, lost. I don’t want my family, co-workers or friends to know.
But I cannot do this alone anymore. So I call her and simply say ‘I need help.’ She doesn’t ask any questions; she just says ‘I’m on the way.’
She has no idea what’s happening or what she will find when she gets here. She just knows I need her and she will handle whatever it is with
love, grace, and kindness, and without judgment. That’s my 2am friend.”
Elevate2am was founded by a group of women who have personally experienced the incomparable love and support provided by their 2am friends
and who wanted to create the opportunity for others to have the same type of extraordinary relationships in their own lives.
